Nitpick and pet peeve: did you mean that both figures TOGETHER will cost 2000 yen, or that EACH figure will cost 2000 yen?

It says final colors will vary. I'm pretty sure those are just the American releases given the lack of chrome, among other things.

The pics they used are the general release US figures. They have also stated that the final products will differ from the images used, which means we haven't seen the actual Japanese versions as yet.

They have to be chromed too! :P

Sure I have, and that guy was all types of color.

Again, I love this figure, he's one of my favorites from the line, but especialy when picyured next to his toon version, I'm just saying some gray would be nice.

Also, Hot Rod should come with the fish and a button that sayes "It's a whooper".

Not for anything, in my last apartment, I had him with a little glass fish and toy pole. I'm mad that I lost those props.

G1 astrotrain´s toy had the same colors as the classics toy,but yeah, grey would be better.

Also, hotrod needs a miniature daniel to step on.

The reissue, yes, but the original toy had no white on it...& hopefully this guy will be G1 show accurate & be primarily a dark gray & purple.

Transformers Henkei? Sounds worse than Kiss Play. They both look the same. I was hoping Astrotrain would be purple this time around.

Meh, they look exactly the same as the ones that I have in my room. Nothing special about them, but I still feel those racing stripes on Astrotrain are hideous.

I wonder if Rodimus will get a pink and orange repaint.
with gold chrome.

Guys, Hot Rod was called Hot Rodimus in Japan all the way back in G1. I thought that was common knowledge...

Also, "Henkei" means "transform", it's not a perverted word at all, unlike a similar sounding word :P

However, I'd be remiss if I did not point out that hentai is all about transfromations as well.

Maybe Hotrod.com?
The NHRA perhaps?

Actually, now that I think about it, I believe that's a pretty standard name that's thrown around among Hot Wheels for obvious reasons. Could be wrong, but I do believe I remember looking for some for my son, who's crazy about Hot Wheels (& Transformers, I might add) & seeing one called Hot Rod.

They can call him whatever they want if they'll give the toy some gray lower legs. Would that be so hard? Why must all the Hot Rod/Rodimus toys have red lower legs?

you think Hasbro's overpriced? wait till you see the release quotations for the Takara versions. 8)

Hasbro is released worldwide, and costs are theoretically kept low by the amount of distribution it gets (more distributed toys = more consumers = more profits, in a simplified form of logic).

but Takara is released commercially only in Japan. other countries (like yours and mine, for example) get these releases only thru: (1) someone who bought it locally from Japan, (2) online stores and forums, (3) local hobby shops who import these toys, (4) eBay and other auction sites.

looking at any of those choices, it's still going to have some form of added expense, that's why it's not gonna get any cheaper.

Well the store I always buy from is going to sell them at a few dollars above retail price that's all. Classics Hasbro is pricey because its hard to find them nowadays here. I'll wait for Takara..
