Fairly impressive stereo mode and looks to have a 'CD Firing' Gimmick.

Robot mode reeks of SWTF Grievous.

oooohhhh kayyyy.... not exactly how I was expecting him to turn out... not bad in stereo mode, the robot mode sucks!!! its like he's carrying the stereo on his back, someone at Hasbro design staff has a hunch back and wants his creations to reflect his uniqueness...

I am really quite thankful that did not become movie Soundwave. At least give him a decent head... oops I forgot, it's a movie head design...

I'll pass and save my money for the Real Gear bot's.

He's an ugly critter for sure, but given that they had to turn a CD player into a humanoid robot looking like he does AND fit in the disk launcher (vertical- interesting) I reckon they've done a bang-up job!

It's kind of hard to make out, but the "LCD" on the front of the radio mode says "Frenzy" and a frequency.

I didnt want to come off to judgemental on the movie line, so i gave it half an hr or so to register and then looked at it again...it's still fugly.


EDIT: I really WANT to like this guy...but 7hrs later, it still makes me want to cry.

I'm with Brakethrough; it's different, and variety is the spice of life. We all had similar rumblings about Beast Machines, did we not? But more important that that, we have to remember- these toys and character designs will be LONG remembered by the "little kids" of THIS year. Imagine what it would have been like if WE had a Live action Transformers movie of this caliber to watch after Star Wars on those long Saturday afternoons when dad was out mowing the lawn and mom was busy grocery shopping...

Frenzy is(along with all the other robot designs)... What he is. whether we like it or not. What matters is whether or not they capture the collective imagination of the Kids. How awesome would it be if we saw another Transformers renaissance 20 years from now...

Creepy little bastard, eyen toned-down for toy form. If the Real Gear bots have nightmares, this is what they must look like... I like the CD-launcher gimmick he looks to have, and the transformation looks pretty impressive... But the head and arms? Still freakin' unnerving.

What everybody else said, plus I don't really like it. I thought he was gonna be Barricade's front grill. I guess there are multiple frenzy's?

he is the first one i can say for sure i wont be getting unless its free... and even then id have to think about it

As for the figure, there's a certain charm to it. I do think it's novel that for the first time ever Transformers are being designed like the giant alien robots they really are.

I'm afraid I have to agree - it does seem to match well to what we've seen - and we ALREADY KNOW the design asthetic is a huge departure from what came before. So why not judge this thing on its own merits rather than on our own impossibly high standards?

He's ugly, that's for sure. I dunno though, he's got a kind of charm to him. My wife saw him and thought he was awesome, so I guess I'm getting him.

It isn't as bad as the figure that comes with Barricade but it isn't a whole lot better. Based on from what little you can see of him in the "Hidden" trailer he looks a lot better than this which makes me wonder why they couldn't have made a better looking toy.

That boombox looks awesome, otherwise he sucks.

Still, it looks like a battery cover on his back, I hope he does something cool.

It's actually kind of endearing in its overall ugliness.

I like it. I can't wait to buy one.

Oh and about the Frenzy/Barricade thing...he *IS* Barricade's radio and partner, but he can get in where no other Decepticon can.

Plus he's his own robot, so he can take missions on his own. He just gets around a lot, that's all.

Would people be more or less apt to buy him if it was not called Frenzy but marketed as "Transformable Poop in a Box"?

Alt mode is nice and clean, worthy of being in the "real Gear" line even.
The robot mode is plain horrible, one of the worst we have seen, even more horrible than the Big "M". Its like they decided that these figures do not need proportion, as long as they have claws or other "attacky" things on them...

Ugh... Absolutely horrible. Another great example that the Decepticons will be portrayed as monsters in this movie.

The alt. mode looks cool but the robot mode is horrendous.

The robot mode is brilliant imo. A nice departure from the boring designs we've been getting lately with Armada, Energon, Cybertron and Classics. Those who want humanoid robots should stick to Barbies and GI Joes and pretend they transform.
