Myth Wars WIP/sketch

Got a great pic of G1 Op or BW Megs? Whether it's 2-D or 3-D it's welcome as is any other form of art outside the custom figure world.

Here's a long over due update from me. I'll be slowly updating more over the next couple of days. I'll also start adding some of my stuff to the finished thread.

Well, folks, here it is, this is an idea of how the menacing snake lord, Megazarak does look!

Now, it's obvious that this character is inspired by Universe's Megazarak, so his color pattern shold be the same, his alternate mode is the Jormungand serpent, a gigantic python that's black with red stripes across its body.

If some fixes can be made in order to make this design more possible, I'll do'em, it's just that I put the concept I had in my head in the paper ^_^

I think it looks pretty sweet man.

well, I don't think they're inappropriate, I just think he needs to have something a little more practical for robot mode. I just suggested retracting them as a start, since it's not a huge change.
maybe if the skull halves split into 4ths to form 2 "fingers" on each hand.

I see that you're using the D&D monster manual for the dragon design :D
It looks more like a dragon than a gargoyle. But it's still cool looking.

Weapon: Twin Shock-Concussion Missiles
Watch the old Gargoyles cartoon. Snarl is more in the Bronx vein. Looks great by the way BBA.

i really like snarl, but BBA is this one of ur harder drawings to do, seeing the amount of detail put into it?

Adding detail isn't necessarily the hard part - DECIDING WHAT details to use is the hard part.

For instance - the pelvic area took me a while to decide what to use.. I still might change it. I don't like the way it turned out.

No manuals here..
TFM decided to use this gargoyle as reference:

My rendition:

Everything remains the same - minus the wings. Snarl will have "wings" in robot mode.

Here's a sketch I made a couple of days ago (Though its proportions suck, Snakes have their heads wider in the jaw joints, but I wasn't looking at a book when I did this one xD, and it was made like in five minutes xDDD), I'm planning to take out the scale armor as well.

http://www.tfmaster.com/forum/files/fanfic_megazarak_sketch_201.jpg

About Megazarak's robot mode, the main problem I have now is the fact that the serpent's body is waaaaayyy too long and it's also very narrow in comparison to its lenght, so the transformation pattern becomes a pain to design :P

The idea I had in this design was that the snake split into two parts, the fron body and the tail, the fron body split at the head and neck to form the arms and shoulders (I put the two halves of the head as hands to make it look more original, after all, there're several guys that have both of their hands to become else a head or a tail of a beast, like BW Megatron, Energon Divebomb or Galaxy Force Undermine).

The chest is formed mainly for four pairs of plates that are placed at the sides of the former body to make it wider.

The back part of the snake's front section splits into two parts as well to make the legs, which have moved plates as well to make them wider in the lower legs.

Finally the serpent's tail attaches to the robot's back to turn into its tail.

Now that I think it better, I could come with a better transformation pattern that won't be such a pain as I though, when I draw it I'll post it here ^_^

BBA- That real gargoyle pic you posted in in the same style that Wizards of the coast uses for dragons. So its still the same style :D It looks like they made it accually. But like i said before good work none the less.

I really like the Optimus Primal; he looks pretty cool IMHO!

:P

And that's a nice fight scene between Airazor and Nemesis; some quality work there.

And great progress with Snarl BBA; it's never easy designing and drawing out a figure...

Great job everyone!

He's not meant to be G1 warpath :D Some else thought he was G1 warpath. They just have the same name. And Weremole based him off of Razorbeast.

I can't remeber what the beast was called, but there was a giant bore that the greeks hunted. Can't even remember how that story went. Disney had a version of the story on the hercules cartoon way back though.

How about these for inspiration?

http://tfu.info/1999/Cybertron/Corahda/corahda.htm
http://tfu.info/2000/Maximal/Nightviper/nightviper.htm

hmm... I thought there were more snakes than that, but those are the only ones I see at tfu.info today. *shrug*

Also, if you want to go with the front half splitting to form arms, how about making the arms hidden inside the neck? The head and neck split and seperate from the arms, then, based on the sketch in your link, the apparently-segmented head and neck halves become "snake swords", a la
Ivy's weapon from the Soul Calibur games?

That leaves the arms attached to the back half of the serpent, while the rest of the tail seperates to become chest and legs, with the head emerging from within the severed part.

The Giant Boar is part of greek myths. It was Hercules 4 labor to kill it. The full name for the boar is Erymanthian boar.
