For the record, most owners of Games of Deception were not pissed about the rerelease. They were pissed about people going to them, pointing, and saying "ha-ha, idiot, sucker, scalper, ..."

1) Retail cost of the seekers were $180 each ($60 for three, $300 for the boxset).
2) Right after botcon they shot up to a value of $400 ($200 Thundercracker, $100 Thrust, $100 Dirge)
3) Right after Henkei Thundercracker was announced the value of Thundercracker dropped to ~$75. This was followed by Thrust price increasing to $200 and Dirge $125. Seekers = $400
4) To get Thundercracker & Skywarp shipped to the US cost about $65 each or more so $130 for both.
5) Henkei Thundercracker was QC nightmare
6) Takara announces Dirge and Thrust and the values of the Botcon seekers drop to about $100
7) People see pictures of Henkei Dirge and Thrust and the Botcon seeker values start moving back up.
To get Henkei Thrust & Dirge shipped to the US would cost about $65 each or more.
9) People receive the Henkei Thrust and Dirge and realize the wings on Thrust look odd and Dirge paint job is not very classic.
10) I believe the Botcon seekers are now sitting at $100-$125 Thundercracker, $150-$200 Thrust, $100-$125 Dirge, Total = $350-$450

So, nothing much has changed except for the value of Dreadwind doubling. Also, some people say that Thundercracker and Thrust were going for $300 each but that was only for a very short amount of time and a handful of auctions.

Powered commander should see similar results. I was told by my supplier that they had cutoff the ordering date as of May 25th or June 4th (today). At least that what he keeps telling me to get me to pay him. ROFL. If that's true and nobody else has any news then it'll be a very limited run and not that easy to get.

1) TFCon Powered Commander = $120 preregisterd + expenses, $160 buy on-site.
2) The secondary market drove the price to over $300 on ebay but people were still getting deals off the thread for $200-$250.
3) D.I.A edition will cost $120-$180 to import. The latest pictures has it more blue in trailer mode but looks similar in robot mode. If it doesn't come with the briefcase that's another plus for TFCon
4) Unless I'm completely wrong, once people realize that they're not going to get a powered commander for $90, the prices of TFCon will shoot back to $250-$300, so you got a good deal at $200.

wow, now that is what I call fan reassurance and support in full detail!! I feel very lucky now.. and I did figure out that if I get the Ultra Magnus version, I would want the two to look the same in botmode.. the chrome would throw that off and look funky..

Lesson learned: Don't believe anything FansProject has to say.

Another lesson learned: exclusive doesn't really mean exclusive anymore.

Damn. 995 Plus whatever Kapows got and who knows what other retailer.

Yeah, I got the CC armor, probably not gonna let that go, but I'm glad I at least got my money back on my PC armor. I won't be ordering this set and will probably think twice since FP has clear issues with business.

As a proud owner of the PC armor, I can let this slide without any second thoughts.

Guess I was wrong about this being limited.

Well, had this been a Has/Tak exclusive, you would have been correct.

It really seems like FansProject and even BBTS in this instance have bought/made more of these things than they'll be able to deal with.

Maybe the BBTS preorder's like the Henkei Seekers. Once they get the preorders in they'll put an order into Fansproject. I mean, is it believable that the amount available went from 1000 to 350 in four hours?

I just got an email from an ebay seller with that 119.00 price, shipped..plus bonus on the upgrade for the aerial bot combiner..60.00..

so I am wondering..

should I just keep my TFCOn version and buy the City commander version at 199.00 or should I buy the chromed version for 119.00 and get the FP G3 TRAILER..??

I would rather have the Ultra Magnus CC armor so I got both of them standing next to each other, brothers at arms.. but from a collection stand point, I'm still not sure what I want to do.. I mean 199.00 is allot of dough and I still need to get the Prime/Ultra Magnus 2 pack..

I haven't been into Classics till I saw the Sideswipe, and the Other Cars..and this armor upgrade..


what scares me is I pay 199.00 for a TFCON city commander figure upgrade, and then end up FP releases a Chrome version of CC for the japanese market.. for 80 bucks less..

I might bite the bullet and buy the one on BBTS. I almost got a TFcon set, but the guy was supposed to get it decided to keep all 3 of the ones he got.

I just want to have all 3 armour on display.

However, I am concerned that TFcon only had 500 armours, while there are an estimated several thousand of the Henkei version. This makes me wonder just how many of these were actually produced.

Here's my theory:

Franproject (Making a call to the factory):We need 500 aromour sets in the following colors
Factory guy 1: Understood. (Guy writes down 500 for the production count)
Factory guy 2 (stumbles across order form): That can't be right. (adds 2 more 0's)
Fansproject: Holy crap! What are we going to do with all these extras?

I think the superion add-on set runs from $45-$50 (check BBTS) so $60 for it isn't a deal. If it's $60 for the G3 trailer then that'd be cheaper then the $80 BBTS is charging.

Magnus is going to set you back $200+ either way. It's a nice toy for $100 but $200. . .

Have you considered just buying a G3 but passing up on both the Magnus AND D.I.A.?

LOL.. nice scenario! city commander set this Friday..yeah it's expensive.. but It's limited and it's Ultra Magnus, and not prime.. the DIA version for the Henkei is nice and all, but it's the same one I bought for 200.00 and is just in chrome.. so I would rather have another Armor upgrade that matched the TFCON version I bought.. so i can pose them together as Brothers in arms..which I like..

I just ordered it form BBTS solely to have it hitched behind their Optimus trailer! Seriously, I don't quite get all the hubbub about this thing. I get the "exclusive lol not really" rage but I don't understand the desire for an upgrade product for something that isn't technically Transformers. If Optimus ever wore this in the G1 cartoon or Marvel comic I'd understand its appeal better. As it stands, it's just a new spin on the old complaint that every Optimus most be painted white for Magnus and black for Nemesis. Now Magnus has to be painted red for Optimus! It's reverse robo discrimination!

I've ordered one... but I feel dirty doing so. I hate that there's so much controversy swirling around about this set and FP right now. They do such great work but really screwed the pooch here IMO.

I'm also really surprised that they're making so many. Seems like too much of a good thing.

yeah, I Suppose.. the only thing that angers me is that I paid allot for the TFCON version..and they go and do this.. but that's not a big deal since I will be getting the G3 trailer, and possibly the city commander and magnus figure.. so all is good for now then atleast..

on a side note, I may color one of these my own way to see what it would look like.. if they did a different version..

Skywarp-2, I highly recommend you track down a Magnus and original City Commander upgrade.

Hell, the more people buy it now at the inflated prices, the more likely Takara is to put out a more accurate all white Magnus with red eyes and a blue mouthplate!

Seriously, the complete Classics Ultra Magnus is a truly awesome figure. Get one.

Well, I preordered one of these. I'm not sure I'll keep it though. I don't have a Henkei Convoy, or an extra Classics Prime, and I prefer the TFCon deco, without the chrome. I've wanted a Powered Commander armor since FP first made CC though, so I'm torn on what to do.
