The 2024 Shizuoka Hobby Show 2024 is currently taking place in Japan and Takara is present. It has unveiled the AMT line which is turning previous highly detailed and stylized model kits into transforming figures. The first one shown is AMT-01 Rodimus, which is based on Flame Toys Kuro Kara Kuri Rodimus. There will also be a Predaking coming in this line. Independently of all this, we also have a preview for a Leo Prime figure along with a first in hand look at the rerelease of MPM 3 Bumblebee in a more accurate, the upcoming exclusive movie Optimus Prime based on SS Crosshairs, MPG Super Ginrai and Missing Link Bumblebee and Cliffjumper.
Images below are from Robotkingdom and X users sneryblue and Yodobashi_Hobby.
Following initial word of an assortment of Hot Wheels cars in decidedly non-Transformers based vehicle options we have our first look at two somewhat more accurate takes on two recognizable characters.
First up we've got a listing for Hot Wheels Track Fleet Optimus Prime straight from Big Bad Toy Store. This isn't just a random semi truck painted up like OP but a new model complete with the instantly recognizable removable trailer design. This is a 1/64 diecast vehicle and at least BBTS has it priced at $10 and shipping in July. This is a new line launching in 2024 so it's hard to tell just how well it'll be distrubted.
Then we've got Bumblebee who may or may not be the same one from the initial listing above. It's a classic yellow BW Beetle, not the scrunched up one we know and love from G1. The photos are posted by rj_nighthawk on Reddit who says he received it from a local Facebook pre-order listing not expecting it to not only be a leaked copy but also unriveted. As the photos show the car shell may very well be a generic body that is used regularly by Hot Wheels, but the underside features Bumblebee's face and Hasbro copyrights.
It'll be interesting to see exactly how this Bumblebee will be released and if we'll see more figures alongside him. And who knows, maybe there's a Track Fleet Motormaster on the horizon as well? Let us know what other characters you'd like to see or if this line is a total pass for you in the Energon Pub forums!
Robosen went for a tank alt mode for their version of Megatron. The design and Transformation is loosely based on the Combiner Wars leader version we had a decade ago. In the video below you get a rundown of all the features, including voice clips, commands, and even a firing gimmick. They also highlight how he breathes when he's not commanded anything, which is a bit of an odd feature they keep including, since robots don't breathe.
Following the Hasbro Pulse Fan Stream Legacy United Wave 3 figures are now up for preorder. Preorders went live at 1PM for Pulse Premium Members, and at 2 PM for non-premium Pulse Members. You can also preorder from BigBadToyStore as well!

Cinemacon is currently going on and we know Paramount will be on tomorrow where the trailer for Transformers One will be shown early to attendants, while we wait for the public release April 18th (Chris Hemsworth is also in attendance of the event). But the first Transformers One news to come out of it is the Popcorn bucket. On the trade show floor, there are booths showcasing a wide range of products associated to the theatre going experience and one booth is for the makers of the limited edition popcorn buckets. At their booth is a popcorn bucket for the upcoming Transformers One film. It features Orion Pax.
Of course, the proportions are waaaaaaaaaaay off since they fashion the body in the form of a bucket, but it does give is an idea of what the character's head would look like and the details found on the body. We'll be back tomorrow if more news drops about Transformers One at Cinemacon.
To commemorate a partnership between Takara Tomy and Japanese exotic car retailer Bingo Sport a new figure of live action Optimus Prime will soon see release. Thanks to a post on X by the official @TF_pr account we're getting our first look at the figure which appears to be a heavy retool of Studio Series 92 Crosshairs from 2022 into a Corvette C7 GT3-R. They're expecting reservations to begin in early summer 2024 and release to take place in the following winter. More information, such as how to order one, is coming soon. But as this is potentially a store exclusive it my require ordering through Bingo Sports, possibly even through visiting their store. Hope for the best, but expect the worst in this case. As you can see below the same deco is also being used in the real world for a future Japan Cup race.
The 40th anniversary of Transformers is bringing us a lot of big and new things, but one of the biggest staples of the franchise is coming to an end. With the release of MP-60 Ginrai, what they're calling the 100th MP figure when including certain special edition and limited releases they're calling it quits on the Masterpiece line as we know it. That's not to say we wont be getting anymore MPs at all, but the primary line that originated with MP-01 some 21 years ago will no longer Exist at the end of 2024. A blurb on the official website for MP-60 and MP-09 states that the line will continue with the MPG line moving forward. Whether this means all future MPs will be combiners of some sort or if the MPG line is being rebranded is currently unknown. What this might mean for the Masterpiece Movie line headed by Hasbro is also unknow, but probably wont be affected by this news, at least not outside of Japan. Until Takara Tomy clarifies further all we can do is speculate. Below you'll find the pertinent bit from the website as translated by Google.
With so many characters left undone it's hard to guess what the future might bring for the line. Thanks to Sabrblade in the Seibertron Energon Pub Forums for letting us know. And be sure to let us know how you feel about what may be sad news for many fans in the forums as well.
Hasbro is collaborating with it's great industry foe, Mattel. We had Transformers on Uno games and now we have them adorning Hotwheels products. As mentioned before, the assumption was that the Hotwheels products would not in any way be the characters but simply licensed art pasted on. And that's exactly what we are seeing with these new Skate toys. They come with a skateboard that has some Transformers art along with thematic shoes for your fingers.
We've seen leaks, we've seen rumors, but now we finally have an official reveal (and preorders available!) For the *take a deep breath* Transformers Generations Selects Legacy United Autobots Stand United 5-pack!
This set will be released in the Generations Selects line, meaning that preorders should be available at all the usual online retailers. It consists of five Deluxe figures, all in cartoon decos, and in the case of four of them, no longer including translucent plastic, which should help durability. All five figures are of previously released molds. The five figures are Wheeljack, Sunstreaker, and Trailbreaker, first released in the Earthrise line on 2020; Jazz, released in Studio Series 86 in 2020; and the long rumored and anticipated Hound, in his Earth mode, first released as Detritus in Legacy Evolution in 2023.
This set is scheduled to start shipping in July, with a retail cost around $110 USD, which works out to a cost of $22 USD per figure, less than the current retail cost of a Deluxe. Photos are below.
Let us know what you think of this new set. Did you miss out on Trailbreaker and Sunstreaker when they were first released? Picking it up to finally get a modern Earth-mode Hound in your collection? Sound off in the forums!
Hasbro Pulse on YouTube has released a video showing off HasLab Omega Prime completely hand painted today. It should be mentioned that this is purely representative of the final figure which will be molded in colored plastic with painted details and not fully painted. The video also shows off some of the features that were skipped or glossed over in the initial reveal like the storage for Blue Bolts in Ultra Magnus, his compatibility with carrying Deluxe cars and Prime's extending ladder. The video also features several comparisons to the original figure.
The Omega Prime set campaign runs until March 14 at 11:59 EDT for $249.99. As for this writing it's only about 1,200 units away from reaching the second tier with 23 days remaining. As of yet a bonus 3rd tier has not been mentioned, but they did surprise us with one at the end of the Deathsaurus campaign so anything is possible, just not promised.
