Seibertron.com has updated its comprehensive Transformers galleries once again with two more new additions from Hasbro's Generations line: Autobot Blurr and Decepticon Dirge! Both of them are deluxe class figures and are part of the fourth wave in 2010 Generations line. Blurr is a repaint/retool of Generations Drift complete with new head and updated weapons. In his gallery, Blurr is shown in his "alternative transformation" where the legs are fully extended and the shoulders are left pointing up, giving the figure a longer, sleeker appearance more like that of Transformers Animated Blurr. Dirge is a repaint/retool of Classics/Henkei Starscream that was originally released last year by Takara as a store exclusive.

Got wave 3 on preorder, but they haven't shown up in the UK yet, the galleries are awesome as always. I don't think I'll ever get bored of that Lambo mould!

I wish they would get tired of it....

Very much agree that these are another set of great galleries. I really like Blurr a bunch; the mold is a good one and it works for Blurr.

Dirge is such a must have for me. I can't wait to get that sucker.

Red Alert looks really good, and I wish I would have just waited for this to come out instead of buying Sideswipe. Oh well. I will pass on another copy of this mold.

I am completely on the fence about Soundwave. I just don't know about that figure. Sad to say, but it doesn't strike me one way or the other. Just blah.

I noticed, Seibertron, that you've got Blurr's lower legs extended in the shoot. What prompted the decision to leave them in a more extended/ disconnected pose?

Speaking of though, I never even saw Sideswipe in stores, but Red Alert is his repaint, so would anyone say that the Sideswipe mold is better than the Sunstreaker mold (which I think looks good but doesn't seem to hold very well)?

They're the same mold. One is the back of the other. It's why this mold was perfect for the Punch/Counterpunch exclusive for one of the colector clubs.

I really like the alternate transformation for Blurr. It really does makes him look a lot sleeker and faster while making his extra long sniper rifle seem slightly more to the correct scale for him. At the same time it also helps to make him not look like just a repaint of Drift. :BOT:

How true. I noticed that they were the same, but I figured that they may have had different means to get to the final form (such as instead of spinning the top of the car, you pulled the hood down to pop the head out). I guess they just spun the legs around, the head, and swiveled the arms a bit and they got their two molds. Thanks for the answer.

I didn't like how he just looked like a Drift repaint and how short his body was for someone who should be a "runner".

I actually did pics of him both ways ...

... with his legs and arms elongated

... as well as transformed the "correct" way!

You know, just so I could make everyone happy. :)

I like the music in your video. I know it's from the 1986 TF Movie, but what's the soundtrack's name, so I can listen to it for the next 3 weeks?

Please read the text in the gallery or several of my posts above. He's transformed intentionally that way, but there are also plenty of pictures of him transformed "properly" to make everyone happy.

I've been attempting to tell people this for awhile, but they usually just like to look at the pretty pictures first and then run away..

Both. Reach is the freaking boss, and Blurr is 1/4th the cost of Reach, it hasn't come out yet in retail, so you can wait on a bit too on that.

All the galleries look great. As for the figs, I'm definitely waiting in anticipation for Blurr and Dirge. Soundwave not as much, and Red Alert, well, less than the other three. Still, all look like great figures.

Congratulations are in order, Ryan. You have successfully made it my life's mission to track down and pick up WFC Soundwave and Blurr, despite the fact that I can't afford to get either of them now.

It's technically "unofficial". It was inspired from the GameStop commercial that featured Shockwave being in charge and Soundwave transforming to a Cybertronian boombox mode to play Stan Bush's "You've got the Touch". I used several YouTube videos to figure out how to transform it that way based on what other fans were doing.

It's not perfect, but it's close enough to make me happy. It sure as heck is better than his vehicle mode in my opinion.

I don't think his vehicle mode is THAT bad (I mean, if I were Soundwave I'd sure be happy to have wheels) but seeing such a convincing 3rd 'communications deck' mode for him definitely bumped him up on my shopping list.

All that inhibits me really is that my Cybertron Soundwave works so well with my Classics collection. He's got Laserbeak, who fits in his chest, and scales appropriately with Universe Ravage. His legs are cruddy, but it turns out his back is made like a picture frame, and he can be hung very securely on a wall, providing the illusion of flight.

I might be stating the obvious here, but you know he also uses the boom-box mode in the game, right?

I actually didn't know that. I haven't played the game since the week before it came out. Didn't get very far in it. Unfortunately, due to Seibertron.com I rarely get to play video games.

In the second Autobot mission, when Optimus, Bumblebee and Sideswipe try to rescue Zeta Prime, they reach him, only to find Soundwave in boombox form before he transforms and fights them.

Mr Seibertron has taken two already awesome figures and made them exponentially better. Pure genius! Blurr looks like a completely different figure than Drift now, and Soundwave is in the most appropriate configuration he could ever possibly be in besides the good ol' micro recorder of old. This is exactly how mine shall be displayed when I finally get them.

With these and other upcoming offerings we've seen, I begin to have a fragile hope that it will in fact be possible to eventually have a complete Neo-G1 collection. At the rate they're cranking them out, who knows? Anything is possible.

Great galleries, but im on the fence about stretching Blurr's legs though, but i do like the elongated shoulders the best.
Soundwave is great awesome as well, but im waiting for Takara's version and Red Alert is ok, but the Henkei version is much much better. Dirge is awesome and just need TC for my seekers.

Me, too. And somehow it also makes his head look smaller than what original is. Great job, Ryan.

Interesting way of transforming Blurr, Seibs! When I got Drift I toyed with some similar ideas myself, I'm also thinking of swiveling the doors up towards his back. I'll probably keep the legs in standard configuration, as I don't really care for the large gap in front. It really does help differentiate between the two though.

Glad you included the boombox mode for Soundwave too, I was wondering what it looked like! :D
