In summary: Soundwave is worth every single damn penny I paid for him. For both of him. In fact, I would have paid well over $100 for this figure had I had the opportunity to hold him in my hands first.
He's also an incredible compliment to the Classics line. As you can see from the white version of MP3 Soundwave, I saved some of the best stuff for the Spark Blue Soundwave's gallery. You want Classics comparison pics? You'll get them. You want pics of other Transformers enjoying their MP3 Soundwave player like Scorponok, Unicron and Fort Max? You'll get them. Stay tuned! I'll be posting the picks for Spark Blue Soundwave later this week.

if only they had put blue details on it to break up all the white.

The white does look too bland, but with a wash or even just some lining, it would look a lot better. Gundam Markers FTW!

Brawl gallery should be coming later this week. I was going to do the gallery tonight but decided that I would stop by the comic store to buy all the books they've been saving for me since before BotCon. Then I decided to work on the Arcee gallery while I had dinner at a patio bar. And then I decided to come home and watch 300 ... which I've really been looking forward to. What a great movie this is! I posted the first MP3 Soundwave gallery and finished the Arcee gallery which I will post some time tomorrow after the Soundwave gallery dies down a little. I'll work on the Brawl gallery most likely tomorrow night after I finish up the Spark Blue Soundwave gallery.
You guys can own Leader Class Brawl as well. He's currently available at two of Seibertron.com's sponsors:

Whoops. I take it back. He's not available at Toy-Wave.com anymore, which is where I bought mine from because I wanted to give them a try since they're a new sponsor. Incredibly fast shipping from them!

I wonder if reprolabels will make a special set for both versions. Obviously G1 like for the blue version, but maybe something a little different for the white?
Also, I could see them very easily making a black Soundblaster repaint soon. It would just make sense, but I suppose it depends how well these are received.
I've received 3 of them, so I did my part (2 for me--1 each color, and 1 for my wife for Christmas in Spark Blue 'cause she's a Soundwave nut like Seibs).

Glad we were able to cross paths on the site finally, ramble. I'm on every day! I usually post in the toys forum because that's what interests me the most. Plus it keeps me out of debates and heated discussions that you can run into in forums like General Discussion and the Philosophy Forum. The Toys forum is a pretty neutral place to be because we all have one thing in common ... we love Transformers toys! Plus I can shamelessly promote the galleries that I work on in this forum as well.
For those of you complaining about the white version which is meant to look like it's an iPod. The Spark Blue version is meant to look more like a traditional Transformer. The two figures serve two different purposes.

Right, but anyone who'd want Soundwave to look like an ipod clearly must not be that big a TF fan...

Or they could just be reminiscing about Transformers they had as a kid and think it's cool that Soundwave looks like a typical MP3 player. I have a feeling that the two Soundwaves appeal to different types of people. Professor Smooth mentioned that the high-end Japanese Transformers stuff sells really well in Japan ... I would imagine that a real working MP3 player version of Soundwave would appeal to more than just the regular Transformers fan.

They look cool in the box. I haven't opened mine yet. I'm thinking about saving that particular pleasure for my birthday (August 14)!

The headphones are one of each. Frenzy on one side, Rumble on the other.

Nice gallery, Seibs, you are a busy guy. Like most, I prefer the Spark Blue version, and am glad I went for it. So far, looks as close to sex as a Soundwave figure could get. I am indeed happy with my preordering prowess. Now I just have to be patient while it makes its way overseas...

perhaps there is something lost in the photography. The ipod itself looks quite plain in pictures, but its "plainness"" becomes quite attractive in person. Can anybody that has there's verify this line of thinking? Also, i think it was discussed in another thread, but i've since lost track of it...how does the mp3 player function, does it play in order? does it shuffle? etc.

Maybe Hasbro will consider pulling the electronics at some point and bringing the figure stateside as a classics figure.
Redimus-- You'll have to get your own memory card and connections. All you get with the figure are the headphones, his weapons, and various posed hands.

Thanx, Seibs. Once again, galleries good enough to convince me to buy a TF.

How much does it cost?
Scratch that. Where's BEST to get him from? I've seen lots of "sold outs" & alot of different prices.

The memory card, does that come with him, or do you have to buy one seperatly? Also does he come with leads to connect him to your pc, or do you need some kinda device for the actual card?
Its all stored on the SD card, which you buy separately. a 2GB card should cost no more than £6, which is roughly $12 I believe. This is a reasonable amount of songs & you access it not via soundwave, but via either a card reader OR another device using the same type of card, which connects to a computer, such as my dad's camera, which i shall be using when & if I buy soundwave.

They do have a blue version. It does look better you are right. Great gallery. Can't wait for my set (white and blue) alongside the Frenzy and Rumble headphones to show up.

Couple of questions;
What kind of memory card does he take, if he takes one at all?
Does he come with the Rumble/Frenzy earphones, or do you have to buy those seperately?
Have you tried to get him to breakdance yet? ;P

FYI ... I believe the max you can use is a 1GB card on Soundwave for some reason. I've read that a few places and it mentions "1GB" in the instructions as well so I'm assuming it's saying the same thing in Japanese. The card I bought for Soundwave is a 1GB.

He uses a 1GB MiniSD card (NOT MicroSD) that you buy separately. Rumble and Frenzy come separately. You can purchase the Music Label products from BigBadToyStore.com:

Lefthand convoy wrote:Just curious. Has anyone else noticed that Soundwave has the face of the Decepticon logo? I keep meaning to bring it up.
It's been thought for quite some time that the Decepticon symbol is based off Soundwave's face and that the Autobot symbol is based off the Prowl/Bluestreak mold. I can definitely see the inspirations, particularly with Soundwave, but the Autobot symbol seems like more of a stretch to me.

To be honest, the headphones seem kind of crappy as far as audio quality goes. I'll stick to my incredibly awesome Sony earbuds. The audio quality out of Soundwave sounded the same out of my laptop.

It plays in order. I haven't figured out a shuffle feature yet which is a real shame.

Love my Spark Blue Soundwave, though I already scratched him, trying to get the battery out.

I'll be testing mine with a 2 GB card when I finally get him, which probably won't be for awhile. But if my prior experience is correct, he'll read the card but only 1 GB of it.
For people wondering about the cards, they are widely available at most elecronics stores, especially ones that sell cameras and mp3 players. I believe that you can also use a Micro SD card IF it comes with the adapter to allow it to fit in a Mini SD slot.
