Below you will see images of:
Studio Series
Deluxe Mirage, the face will be painted to be more accurate in the finished product
Leader Optimus Primal, will have a darker colour scheme to match the film but sadly comes with open mouth to match the earlier design given to the team. We were given a lot of reasons why this was a leader class toy rather than voyager class toy and it goes as such:
- Added articulation not standard in other classes such as fingers and butterfly joints, to reenact the chest pounding
- Minimal hollowness
- Extra accessories including 2 halves of the Transwarp key, two blades which connect to a fully poseable and segmented chain, and the battle axe for Optimus Prime (which could not be included with Prime at the voyager price point)
Legacy
Core Class Snarl
Core Class playset with Optimus Prime, trailer, and Bumblebee (Pulse Exclusive)
Deluxe Bombshell
Deluxe Shadow Striker
Deluxe Strongarm, retool of Elita 1 and more toon accurate than other G1-ified characters from other "Universes"
Deluxe Detritus, which has the Earth Mode Hound body (Earth mode Hound was not mentionned)
Voyager Bludgeon, Tarn repaint with new head and Sword as we have known for a while due to the test shots
Voyager Trashmaster, also modular like the other Junkions and there is an intended combiner mode that is yet to be seen.
Leader Dreadwing
Generation Selects Antagony which also comes with TMII Scavenger head (for you to place on Inferno)
Buzzworthy SS86 Ironhide and Prowl, meant to show the exact moment they get shot, rather than the moment directly after that when they are dieing/dead
Buzzworthy Trooper pack, where even though the seeker still looks very blue in the stream, we are told he is more lavender.

That Prowl/Ironhide 2 pack is...something. Not sure why they wanted THIS moment captured in plastic (their sad, shocked faces are actually disturbing, haha).
SS Primal and Mirage look really, really good. I wasn't planning on getting much RotB stuff, but these have me reconsidering.
Weirdly though, that core class set with Bumblebee and OP (with adorable little trailer) may be my favorite thing they showed. Might pick that up for my son, he tends to favor smaller Transformers over larger ones.

Bombshell is a definite, of course. He looks a bit more stylised than Shrapnel and Kickback, but it helps to enhance the design. I think Kickback could have benefitted from a similar treatment. Will be nice to have the whole gang.
Trashmaster also looks really good. I'm glad they're still throwing in some new characters alongside the established 'bots. I think he'll fit in really well with the Studio Series Junkions.
Also glad Studio Series Mirage is getting a colour update. I didn't mind the difference in details on the toy, it still looks cool regardless to me, but to know that the final product will be a little more accurate is nice.
That legends two pack with Prime's trailer is a really neat idea. A great way for younger kids, or people on a budget, to have the "complete" Optimus package.
Most of the other reveals look up to par as well, but I will be experiencing those through my brother's collection.

I think it's awesome how they used Shadow Striker's whole amalgam of parts thing, but instead of random parts, they "Frankensteined" parts from the original/first Shadow Striker (and if I'm correct, the front end of the car is from movie universe Shadow Striker).
Also, YES to Antagony. She looks SO good. I thought it was curious that they didn't mention her by name at all in the stream.

Movie Deluxe Mirage: As a general rule, I've shied away from pretty much any movie-related figures, with very few exceptions. Mirage is not an exception, and an easy pass.
Movie Leader O. Primal: I've never been a fan of Optimus Primal, either as a character, or any of its associated figures. Easy pass.
Core Class Snarl: I didn't get any of the other Core Dinobots, and I'm not getting this one either. For the same reasons why I turned my nose at the others. Too ungainly, too blocky, and there are too many bits which facilitate the gestalt which are hanging off that look like they don't belong. And for that matter...
Core Volcanicus: If I didn't like the Core dinobots as separate figures, why would I like a gestalt which puts them all into a pile? They did their best with this, but it's fettered by the limitations of the Core size. No thanks.
Core Prime Trailer/Bumblebee set: Tempted by this one, just because I had Core Optimus and this would top him off well. Not that it makes up for being given yet another Bumblebee figure .
Deluxe Bombshell: I commented on this one when the images were first leaked, and my opinion hasn't changed. I'll be picking this one up, but it's a HUGE disappointment that they did a lazy remold of Shrapnel. The upper half of the insect looks completely mismatched against the lower half. And the partsforming rear legs worked for Shrapnel, but they don't seem to work at all for Bombshell.
Deluxe Shadowstriker: Didn't follow the Cyberverse series, so I have no compelling reason to 'like' this figure. Pass.
Deluxe Strongarm: Oh. Goodie. Another Elita-1/Minerva remold. Pass.
Deluxe Detritus: Interesting, but I'm still holding out for a proper Studio Series 86 Hound. Pass.
Voyager Bludgeon: I've got Tarn already, so I'm not prone to getting this remold. Sure the colors are neat and the sword was a nice touch, but not nice enough to make me want a double-dip on this mold. Pass.
Voyager Trashmaster: Interesting, and it had some features that looked good. But I haven't gotten any of the deluxe junkions. So I may not get this one either. They mentioned a combiner gimmick which is yet unrevealed. I'll wait and see how that looks. I may end up eating my words and scrambling to get them all. We shall see.
Leader Dreadwing: I didn't get Skyquake, so I probably won't get this either. I have lingering bad memories of Prime Voyager Dreadwing, I hated transforming that figure...
Buzzworthy Prowl/Ironhide: I can't stand the ER Prowl mold because of hollow legs and brittle plastic. And I already have SS 86 Ironhide. The only lure would be that these don't have the clear plastic, which might make them sturdier.
Buzzworthy Trooper pack: I'm a the stage where I try to avoid getting numerous repaints because I want the shelf space for figures I don't have yet. And this pack is nothing BUT repaints. Like the Creature Collide pack, they're good repaints. But I don't see myself getting these because I'd rather leave room for Nemesis and other new figures that are more unique. But, if it goes on clearance like the CC pack did? Who knows? A really good bargain can cause a person to overlook their normal misgivings....
Selects Antagony: I'm tempted by this one. I thought Inferno looked garish and ugly with the red color scheme. But this one? It's in black. And that automatically makes it look better. Tentatively on the list.

Really like that Strongarm.
Definitely will try to pickup Dreadwing and Volvo Prime.
Not feeling anything else.
Getting the E-Hobby repaint before the actual Hound is just sad.
Posted by blackeyedprime on June 20th, 2023 @ 2:22pm CDT
Not sure I'm keen on trashmaster, it doesn't look that voyager ish in size and I might have been hoping it to be a bit more like animated wreckgar (though if they repaint it in rescue bots colors then I'll probably pick one up).
Strong arms looking like a buy though I might have preferred her voyager ish.
Bludgeon is the weakest of the lot and I'll stick to the baynus versions so money saved there.
Posted by SpaceEagle on June 20th, 2023 @ 2:36pm CDT
I know some we've seen before with leaks and others we could very easily guess how they'll look, but I still like what we're getting.
Shadow Striker, Detritus, and Trashmaster look awesome, I do enjoy the beefy Junkion in particular.
I'm not a fan of Bludgeon's IDW look in general, but as a figure one could add to their ranks it's not bad, the base Tarn figure was really damn good so that's probably why.
And Primal just looks amazing!
(I do think Strongarm's head looks a little too big...It's probably just me, of course, but other than that it looks good!)

Now that you mention it, you're right. That head is just a tiny bit too big...she's not quite a lawn jart but it's noticeable.

I initially thought: "why is there a pumpkin on top of OP's truck mode"? But the set is a good idea to get rid of....er, I mean *recycle* all the old toys.
Damn SS Primals looks amazing. I'm torn between Yolopark & SS now.

Agreed. I was initially disappointed by Antagony not receiving her own unique head sculpt. Then, I read this on the Wiki:
Surprisingly, Antagony also includes an alternate second robot head, this one designed to make her resemble Transmetal Scavenger.
That sounds pretty cool actually.

I hated Tarn and I hate that Bludgeon as well. It's an easy pass.
I 'm surprised to like that RID StrongArm quite a lot!
Sure, she got the backpack but at least she looks like a proper fembot. Even more so than the RID original.
But that truck mode...

The only option for now is that damn Super7 figure who is in preorder limbo along its wavemates.

SS Deluxe Mirage - At the right angle he looks really good, but at the wrong angle you realize how huge his backpack is and how awkward his lower legs and feet look. Probably get him on sale.
SS Leader Optimus Primal - Gorilla legs are a little strange, but everything else looks absolutely amazing! Definitely getting him.
LE Core Class Snarl - He and Swoop are probably the two best in the set. Looking forward to finding him.
LE Core Class playset with Optimus Prime, trailer, and Bumblebee (Pulse Exclusive) - Bumblebee was on constant deep clearance at Target and Core Prime was in a few waves so a lot of people got them, I have no idea why they think this was a good choice. The trailer is fine, though it's pretty stubby. Worst of all is the price, are they really trying to convince people that trailer is worth $20 on its own? Also this white background stock photo makes me laugh, they really over did the scale difference.
I'm very suspicious about Prime and trailer being the Deluxe G1 Optimus Prime listed for next year. I know the price isn't correct, but I could still see them doing this if they can fit it in the box.
LE Deluxe Bombshell - Good enough, especially bot mode. Definite get.
LE Deluxe Shadow Striker - Eh, I'm going to hope that a Frankenstein repaint happens, otherwise I'll get this one if it's on sale.
LE Deluxe Strongarm - Big head, but looks pretty good for an Elita retool. And while the back of the truck looks really wide, there are pickups like that. Will get her.
LE Deluxe Detritus - He's like a Double Spy with only two modes. From Autobot robot to Decepticon Jeep, the enemy will never know what hit them! Only real complaint is that the color would have benefitted a LOT from the airbrushed and paint washed "sand" of the original figure. I'll get him, but I really wish he he was a new figure made like the other Junkions in this line. I'll get him since he's G1.
LE Voyager Bludgeon - Maybe a get, I still haven't seen Tarn in stores and my pre-order at EE is constantly being delayed.
LE Voyager Trashmaster - A get for sure, must have all the Junkions. Looks really good otherwise. But will they retool it into an Animated Wreckgar?
LE Leader Dreadwing - Those colors look so good on this mold, very excited to get this!
Generation Selects Antagony - Looks really good! More BotCon repaints are always welcome.
Buzzworthy SS86 Ironhide and Prowl - People are really lukewarm on this so I'll wait for a sale, they shouldn't be hard to get at a lower price.
Buzzworthy Trooper Multipack - Already ordered 2 from Target. Also, told you all so about the Seeker being purple.

I'm highly sceptical that the Transmetals will ever reappear again. So it's nice they receive a little nod here. Although I do wish they customised it just a little to resemble Antagony's boxart.

It's basically Hasbro's way of giving us a new BW Scavenger toy by simply putting Scavenger's head on Antagony's body.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:I'm highly sceptical that the Transmetals will ever reappear again. Just like how Hasbro gave us a new Prime Bulkhead toy by simply putting Bulkhead's noggin on some random square truck dude's body.

Still, Scavenger is a strange TM to homage. One of my personal favourites (not that TM had a "bad" one) but I distinctly remember he was a notorious shelfwarmer.

Well, Scavenger was originally created at all in order to be a Transmetal Inferno (which is even more obvious when one realizes that Scavenger ended up being the only Transmetal 1 who didn't represent a show character), but had his name changed due to the pre-Transmetal Inferno toy still being on the shelves in large quantities at the time.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Yeah, that is really interesting. I wonder what the intention was when including the Scavenger decals? Especially since they aren't listed as the default form. As far as I can recall, Inferno and Antagony are the only BW Ant Bots. So some kind of extensive Botcon-like redeco is unlikely.
The current Hasbro team were likely aware of Scavenger's original intent and thus created the Legacy Inferno mold with built-in Scavenger tooling in order to pay homage to that origin, complete with a pre-tooled alternate head to give us a pseudo pre-Transmetal Scavenger, so that those who want a new modern figure of BW Scavenger can have one, even if it's not an actual Transmetal version like the original toy was.

As said before, I do think these little Easter eggs as further proof that the Transmetals will likely never return, as they were. They are as niche as the Fuzors, although they would require less in-universe explanation.
I like they use the TM head to tell Inferno and Antagony apart, though.

Huh?AllNewSuperRobot wrote:Rhinox, Dinobot and Inferno. The show Transmetals that never were... Sigh
The fact that they also made BW Ravage furry when his original Takara toy was also a Transmetal (though, one representing his Cybertronian body in-universe) seems to further reinforce this, sadly.AllNewSuperRobot wrote:As said before, I do think these little Easter eggs as further proof that the Transmetals will likely never return, as they were. If anything, I'd be happy if they just reissued the original Transmetal 1 toys. A pipe dream would be reissues with new robot heads that were more cartoon-accurate and less "Ninja Turtle angry".

Those are the ones I would have liked to see onscreen. I think the somewhat tiny TM Rhinox figure would have been grossly out of scale with what the show would have done with the design. TM Terrorsaur and Waspinator would have been fun to see in motion too. But those three were the main ones I saw as a missed opportunity.
Emerje wrote:We already have listings for Voyager Silverbolt and Leader Tigerhawk for next year so it isn't a stretch to say Transmetals are also on the table in the coming years.

Add Quickstrike to the mix and they are just the show Fuzors. None of them were the most interesting designs ala Air Hammer, Sky Shadow etc

I too thought of this unicron toy when I saw that Bludgeon
