Apparently, the two fan favorite Decepticon pile-drivin' characters combine to form a tank, similar to the concept of the deluxe class Skids & Mudflap Ice Cream truck toy. Rumble and Frenzy combined will be a Voyager class toy. From what my source saw, the toys will sport their classic G1 heads as well as pile drivers. It is unknown at this time if the pile drivers can be swapped out for regular hands or not. It is also unknown if they will include their unique style of guns.
With all of the recent pictures that have leaked, it's only a matter of time before pictures of Rumble and Frenzy leak as well. We'll be sure to share pictures with you as soon as they become available. Stay tuned to Seibertron.com for all of the latest Transformers information.

A tank you say? Pretty wicked.

Well, outside of the profile books, Dreamwave nicely skirted that question by always pairing them up so they never had to refer to them separately. I would think that releasing the toys together is being done with similar intent. Or maybe they'll even throw something into the bio like,
"In order to help them better fulfill their original functions as information couriers, Soundwave equipped them with exo-armor-chromatic-image-inducers, allowing them to switch back and forth between the red and blue color schemes, and giving them an advantage similar to the clones, Pounce and Wingspan. Although they've proven far more effective as warriors than messengers in their new combined tank form, they still retain this ability, so the Autobots never know which is which!"
I also hope they each have an individual alt mode besides half a tank. Well, even if they don't, I'm sure someone around here will come up with it as soon as they're released.

Now if you'll excuse me, I need to find the guy who decided to make them a tank. Seriously, a tank?

Every single toy of these guys has had their names right.
Don't forget the War for Cybertron video game. Rumble was Blue and Frenzy red in the game.

If they were giving them a whole new alt mode I'd have liked something original is all. Still anticipating pics.
Sad fact about Transformers. Kids love tanks.
I expect Hasbro to eventually make an entire line of TF tanks one day.

Correction in the WFC games Frenzy was red and Rumble was blue...
100 bucks this forum is blocked because all of the Rumble/Frenzy smack talk.

Joker'sRequiem wrote:Hmmmm. Sounds interesting. Although I think doing a Skids and Mudflap style combined vehicle mode would've worked nice for Reflector. But I'll wait to see pics before I decide one way or another on these two. Still, this is going to be a very promising 1-2 years.

I love the Lil Formers shirts. I'm gonna get the Screamer.
I want to see a pic or two before I make my decision.

I was thinking the same thing about their interaction with any existing or future Soundwave. I'll be getting these and I'm sure they will be good figures, but I'll be sticking with my PerfectEffect Rumble and Frenzy paired with ML Soundwave for my classics shelf.

Are the Perfect Effect R/F compatible with WFC SW? While I wouldn't dare keep my hopes up about being able to fit even one of them into his chest, I'm hoping they won't look too large to display next to him. It would be totally awesome if WFC SW could wield their alt modes in his hands!
As for the tank mode R/F, I'll need to see some pics before making a decision. I was hoping for a more appropriate alt mode, though. Like a satellite armed with laser canons or something, maybe?
A tank mode just isn't R/F.
Then again, WFC SW was an armored vehicle....

Hasbro and Takara Tomy have done the best they can; they've stayed as faithful to the G1 robot modes as they can and in most cases, the vehicle modes.
I'm happy to hear about Frenzy (the blue one) and Rumble (the red and black one)'s piledrivers and G1 heads. Now can anyone find some pictures.......

I prefer how Wayward handled the question m'self.

I like this approach. Keep the fans guessing.
Mindmaster wrote:Well, kinda disappointed about them not being able to store inside either G1 Soundwave or a brand new mold of him, but nonetheless, it's a new reincarnation of Rumble and Frenzy.
There's always the Encore cassette tapes for G1 Soundwave.

Very true. While I don't really expect a cassette alt mode from these two guys (80's tech being obsolete and uncool to kids nowadays), I do think that a tank should be reserved for more brutish "brawn for brains" characters. Even a Hummer with a pair of pile-drivers masquerading as a missile/machinegun turret mounted on it would be fine for me--just not a tank.
Posted by Mach on October 14th, 2010 @ 12:47am CDT
Also the tank mode is earth version instead of futuristic version.
Posted by horus on October 14th, 2010 @ 1:39am CDT
That just flushes out half the appeal these two characters had for me
BTW: RIRFIB

On topic, this is great news, I'm glad I held off gettingt the perfect effect figures, what would be really cool is that if the bio and packaging didn't give us a clear answer to which one was which, failing that, Hasbro go one way and Takara the other!

One possible reason besides the G1 cartoon that RIBFIR is so ingrained in some people is... the colors for Frenzy make more sense that way. Blue is a calming color, and someone named "Frenzy" being blue just doesn't make as much sense as coloring him red and black, a much more 'active' color scheme...

By the pics it looks like Blue gets to be the turret and front armor, whereas BlackRed gets to be the base and treads?
