EDIT: And looking at Sentinel's picture, he reminds me of Nimoy. Perhaps the evil alternate universe Spock, but for some reason the face looks similar. The power of suggestion...

I had the unfortunate timing of not growing up with the classic G1 series so I was more confused than psyched about this news. Then again they cast Weaving over Welker for Megs so yeah, I can see this work very well.

YES! The toy made Sentinel seem like some sort of jerk, but at least there's a legend voicing that jerk! This film seems to be on the right track... so long as Tom Kenny or Bill Fagerbake don't voice Roadbuster.

I'll take this news with a grain of salt, given that it's the day before April Fool's Day and all, but I sure hope it's true.

When I read the headline, part of me sorta wanted him to voice Shockwave, but it's still really cool that he's in it!

Well, back in the day he'd also get pissed about questions related to playing Spock in Star Trek. Mind you I think these reactions were attempts to avoid being type-cast. Aside from him and Shattner none of the other Original Series Star Trek actors really went on to fame outside the show and movies.

Where Transformers: The Movie fits into that, well that's easy. Back in '85 Transformers was big, but not big like today. Nimoy did it for the money back then and probably thought it would never catch on like it did.

This comes off as funny to me in an ironic way because just the other day I was talking to my wife about stuff I read about the 86 movie guys i read up on the Tf wiki and how it'd be cool if Bay did get Nimoy to come out of retirement for DOTM. This is awesome though.

It is logical Captain.

One thing I always liked about Nimoy playing Galvatron is that he didn't just resort to acting, but actually did some VOICE acting in that part.

Too often I see big stars cast as voices for parts, and they don't actually voice act, they just voice the part in their normal speaking voice.

Although, I must admit, it will be hilarious now hearing Shockwave face off against Sentinel, especially when Shockwave is spouting off a bunch of stuff about logic, and Sentinel's lines will more than likely say something like "@#%@ logic!" lol

Ok, now that I have semi-control of my emotions, Sentinel Prime kinda looks like Leo Nimoy.

Yeah, it would be awesome if Starscream says "Sentinel, is that you?" before being in a fight with Sentinel.

That's so funny! That's exactly the voice I heard in my head as I drew Sentinel Prime all through Foundation!

i must agree with you on that. It looks as if Bay had a latex mold made of Mr. Nimoy's face and gave it to the animators. But then again atm, I'm jazzed up on caffeine, having just gotten home from a seated dinner for 50, and I was carving the meat.

And since this is on the topic of classic voice actors, would it not be fraggin cool if Frank Oz, were to get a spot, if he still breaths. The 2 wisest creatures in all of fiction in the same movie. Spock, and Yoda.

Best news Ive heard of for this movie, and probably all of the movies since Cullen. This is so awesome, and what a perfect bot to portray. I was hoping Sentinel would have a dynamic and deep voice like Nimoy's. Now if only the leader class toy had a mini Leanord Nimoy voice chip in him

I hope he sounds different than 86 Movie Galvatron though. It be kinda weird. I hope there arnt any Star Trek throwbacks though, and it might be cool to drop a Galvatron refference in their somewhere.

Hmm... I could actually see what his voice sounds like... But, for me, it's hard to explain.

Sentinel Prime is Galvatron in dissguise

I thought if Nimoy had a goatee he'd look like Sentinel. This is a good development. But, at the same time, I agree he'd have fit better for Shockwave's voice.
